Optimizing Risk Management

Interesting article from John Rogula, MBA, MS-MIS, Certified RMP, at Baker Tilly on having an enterprise-wide risk management mindset.
I found these to be some great points:
1) Establish and organizational risk appetite. Are you conservative, or willing to take some bigger risks for a bigger reward?
2) Improve the approach to identify and prepare for threats to the business.
3) Use data analytics available to drive future risk management improvements.
4) Collaborate with colleagues and outside parties. Collaboration helps you uncover oversights and can stress-test your plans, making them more wholistically relevant to your operation.
I decided to add the following to his list:
5) Implement. If you don't have experience in specific areas, bring in a consultant. Admit your weaknesses internally and deliver the best risk management you can.
