Terry Evans is a seasoned safety and risk management professional with over 25 years of experience leading environmental health and safety initiatives across diverse industries, including manufacturing, construction, mining, energy, and public sector operations. He graduated from the University of Alaska in Anchorage with a bachelors in Natural Science. Since 2013, he has served as the Safety Manager for the Wood Products Division at Boise Cascade, where he has played a pivotal role in shaping a division-wide safety and health management system that integrates best practices with the unique operational needs of each location.

Terry has led a cultural transformation toward a risk-focused, employee-driven safety model. His work has directly contributed to a 98% reduction in incident and severity rates across the division. He also implemented a robust safety reporting and analytics platform that improved incident trending, investigation, and accountability. Under his leadership, regional teams have received multiple safety awards from respected industry and safety organizations.

Before joining Boise Cascade, Terry held a series of senior safety leadership roles with Fluor Corporation. There he served as Safety Manager and Deputy Director on multi-billion-dollar construction projects, including the Syncrude Mildred Lake Mine Relocation Project in Alberta, Canada. His extensive experience includes developing risk assessment tools, leading safety audits, and overseeing both staff and subcontractor safety performance on high-risk, high-profile projects.

Earlier in his career, Terry served as Risk Manager for Ada County, Idaho, where he was responsible for enterprise-level risk mitigation strategies, contract review, tort claims management, and the oversight of the county-wide safety program. He has also led safety departments for private firms, including The Leavitt Group, where he provided EHS services and industrial hygiene consulting to clients across the Western U.S. in sectors such as high-tech manufacturing and construction.

At Employers, a national insurance carrier, he developed and managed the company’s industrial hygiene program and led occupational disease investigations, resulting in multimillion-dollar claims savings. His professional foundation was built through loss control and safety consulting roles with Fremont Comp and Alaska National Insurance Company, and his career began with hands-on leadership and risk evaluation experience as a U.S. Army Combat Engineer during the Gulf War era.
